Dave brings experience, great people skills and a passion for the sport of tennis. He has been teaching area athletes for over 20 years. You can find Dave during the warm months at Brookside and over the winter at Fair Lawn Racquet Club. Dave was First singles at Don Bosco High School in Ramsey, as a high school senior. Dave achieved All American honors at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. He became 3-time Rockland County Singles Champion. He also pursued and won the Bergen County Singles Championship. He began his first teaching experiences at Brookside Racquet Club. By 1988, Dave received a call from the representatives of Steffi Graf. During Ms. Graf’s run to the US Open title that fall, Dave drilled extensively at a local family’s court and at the US Open facilities with her. The following year, Dave again was approached by her representatives, and spent more time preparing her for the local Ramapo tournament and the 1989 US Open. Steffi won both Open titles. Dave elected to travel overseas where he played for a professional German Club Tennis Team. He returns for the summer teaching at Brookside.
Cathy Maso Giannelli
Now a wife and mother of two children, Cathy entered the world of tennis at an early age and worked her way up the ladders of achievement. Representing Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes, Cathy played the #1 position, guiding her team to the State Championship. Along the way. Cathy also became an Individual State Champion. Moving on to college, Cathy received a 4-year scholarship to the University of Miami, playing both singles and doubles. After college, Cathy turned Professional. She held a World Ranking in both Singles and Doubles. She competed against the likes of Pam Shriver, Jana Novotna, Gabriella Sabatini and Tracy Austin. For the last 23 years Cathy has been sharing her expertise and experience with many of the local high school athletes from around the area. She has taught at Waldwick Indoor Courts, Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club, FairLawn Racquet Club and for the last 5 years at Brookside. Cathy is a recent Inductee into the Ramapo High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Dianne has been an instructor at Brookside for five years. She comes to us from Quest where she worked as Director of Adult Programs at Quest Tennis in Mahwah for 8 years. She is experienced in drills for doubles, as well as singles, including technique and strategy for competitive play. She has taught all levels from ages 4 through adults including beginners, HS players, and USTA league competitors. Dianne played #1st singles and #1st doubles at Lafayette College all 4 years. She attended Dwight-Englewood High School and played #1 singles. She is a USTA league player, currently in playoffs on a mixed double team. She continues to play Platform Tennis in first position for Series #1 for Brookside throughout the state of NJ. She lives in Mahwah with her three children.
Stacy is no stranger to Brookside women’s tennis and paddle teams. Over the past 12 years, she has participated, captained and coached many of them to award winning seasons. A graduate of Southern Illinois University in court reporting in 1984, Stacy played Division I tennis for 4 years at SIU. Stacy played both singles and doubles for SIU. After college she took a hiatus from tennis to raise 5 children. In addition to active play, Stacy has also developed a career in instruction. She has worked at Quest in both adult and junior development. In 1999, the Holleran family joined Brookside. Stacy has always offered her teammates inspiration and motivation, on and off the court. She is now very excited to be available to Brookside members of all ages and levels in a professional capacity.

Managing Partner; Head Platform and Tennis Professional; Junior Tennis Coordinator Sandy became the Racquets Director at Brookside shortly after purchasing the Club. He became the Head Platform Tennis Professional a few years later. Brookside has developed a strong reputation for it’s Platform teams, both Men and Women. Under the guidance of Sandy, Brookside’s teams have continuously flourished in League play. Sandy and his partner became the 50 and Over N.J. State Platform champions. Sandy provides Juniors with programs encouraging competitive play while enforcing court etiquette and good sportsmanship. He supervises team workouts and interclub play. Sandy has been married for 33 years, has a special needs stepson and resides in Ramsey.
Over the past 13 years, she has participated, captained and coached many ladies to achieve award winning seasons. Active platform Tennis Player; Series 1 position 1 player NJWPTL and WIPL; Drills and advises paddle team players Stacy has always offered her teammates inspiration and motivation, on and off the court. She is now very excited to be available to Brookside members of all ages and levels in a professional capacity.
